Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:18
Jesus wants us to shine the light of His word through love as a testimony of His love for us.
We must be clear and ensure that our motives in word and action are from God, not from a self serving place that draws attention to ourselves and away from Him.
A good place for a light in darkness is elevated above your head, in front of you so you are able to see where your going. unfortunately in doing this there is no light in the direction you’ve come from nor the areas on either on side of you. To dissipate darkness requires light. The shining of our light, all of our lights no matter how small or insignificant we may think they are.
Jesus bids us shine,
With a pure, clear light,
Like a little candle,
Burning in the night.
In this world is darkness,
So let us shine--
You in your small corner,
And I in mine.
